5. If necessary, click on the plus (+) sign next to the Ports

node

to view the installed

communications ports on the computer. Confirm that there is a COM port labeled

308 under Ports.

Make a note of the COM port designation assi

gned to the 308 Virtual COM

interface. For example, in the image below, the 308 Virtual COM Interface has

been designated COM6.

You will need to know the com port number when you configure station hardware for

Inventory Checker.

Now

assign the COM p

ort

from

the Device Manager to work with the Inventory Checker.

To do so,

1. open the CAP SellWise or CAP Cash-n-Carry toolbar.

2. Click on Help

and select

Configuration.

3. Next, click on Station Hardware.

4. Click on the white text box next to the setting Com Port for Inventory

Checker at the bottom of the Station Hardware menu.

A combination box of choices will appear. Click on the down arrow and

choose the COM port you noted in the previous steps.

6. Click F10 Accept to save the change to the COM port

setting.

You are now ready to upload data from the CipherLab CPT-

8000 unit through CAP

Software Inventory Checker.
